A safe and hygienic industry

Hygiene in vending is non-negotiable. The WVA works alongside global institutions that provide global hygiene provisions.

The WVA monitors the activities of Codex Alimentarius, which develops food standards, guidelines and related texts such as codes of practice under the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme.

The main purpose of this programme is protecting consumer's health, ensuring fair trade practices in the food trade, as well as promoting coordination of all food standards work undertaken by international governmental and non-governmental organisations.

The WVA’s objective is to both inform the vending industry on Codex activities and to promote its interests to Codex.
